CCTV Cameras
A CCTV camera system is essentially a form of video surveillance. By putting cameras in precise locations, videos are captured and transmitted to a monitor. It is called “closed-circuit” because the cameras transmit what they capture through a private cable or wireless communication device.
The videos recorded are confined within that communication line and is not transmitted to the public. For example, a video captured from a conference room being monitored by a security camera system will only be transmitted to the monitors of the security department of that particular office.
The videos are not broadcasted anywhere else. Today’s security camera systems have also evolved to allow online access to the CCTV footage or monitors as long as the user is equipped with the right login credentials.
Dome shape CCTV camera are mostly used for both in and outdoor security and surveillance. It’s dome shape makes it hard to tell which way the camera is facing so it creates uncertainty which is a great deterrent.
Bullet shape CCTV Cameras are going and cylindrical and are normally used outdoors. One of the advantages are long distance viewing. Normally installed with a protective case and are shielded against water, dust and other elements.

Types of CCTV Cameras
Dome Camera System
A Dome CCTV camera is named so because of their shape. A quick look at the camera and one can instantly tell whether it’s a dome type or not. Often, we notice that the camera is attached to the ceiling and the dome is darkly shaded. This tint is meant to hide the camera’s actual position. A dome camera can be fixed, but it can also be rotated or titled. Battery-powered, wireless CCTV cameras have taken the market by storm, with their competitive price points and impressive features. The majority of these are capable of recording colored, high resolution videos
Bullet CCTV Camera System
Bullet CCTV cameras are great for both indoor and outdoor use. They run on a Cat5/6 or PoE (power over Ethernet) and come in small sizes (around 2 to 3 inches), so their portability is likewise guaranteed. It cannot tilt or pan on its own and the viewing angle is quite limited compared to the newer models of security cameras. Much like all the other types of security cameras, bullet CCTV cameras are capable of motion detection, night vision, and round-the-clock recording be matched to the environment if that’s what you want.

Choosing the right cctv camera System
Whether it’s within a private abode or in a public establishment, security cameras are vital installations. Choosing the right security camera system will have to depend on the location and purpose for which the CCTV shall be installed. If the location has challenging corners, strategic placement of the right-sized CCTV camera system will be imperative. If the cameras are meant to monitor potential criminal activity, such as in casinos for example, then more powerful CCTV cameras must be put in place. If surveillance is only meant for daily monitoring of a household, such as if your car mail or package was already delivered, then the smaller and cheaper alternatives would suffice.
CCTV camera systems of commercial establishments normally have servers housed within the premises where they keep the files and back-ups for a long period of time. Private homes, on the other hand, usually have cloud-based recording systems. This means that recorded videos are stored for a shorter period and overwritten once the cloud storage becomes full. Suppliers of CCTV cameras for private households offer installation, cloud hosting, maintenance, and repair as part of a package. These security camera packages also include an app that can be accessed remotely on mobile devices and secured with passwords.
Whatever the type or for whatever purpose, a security camera system undeniably makes our lives safer and they are as indispensable as the next household utility. You can also fit them to a house or commercial solar system to save on electricity!

It alll depends on the layout of the premises, mostly the choice of the client. Most customers in our experience do choose a camera to be visual for the sake of deterring theft.
We will normally advise what is best, but normally dome cameras are placed inside a building and bullet shape cameras are placed outside a building.
Yes, very much so, no point in having a camera system installed but you are not able to make out what has been recorded. Note however the chosen resolution should match the expasive area you wish to record.
Again this depends on the area you want to have the camera installed, If it is inside and you would benefit from having audio recorded then yes (always make sure you know what the legal implications are)
